BSUK’s John Boyd to serve on two joint CEB and ESF Committees

Thu 10 Dec 2015

The Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) and the European Softball Federation (ESF) have recently announced plans for closer collaboration and have set up joint working committees for Marketing and Media, Development and Operations, with BSUK’s Joint CEO John Boyd appointed to two of them.

John, who is the Head of Development at BaseballSoftballUK, will serve on both the Development Committee and the Marketing and Media Committee.  This follows on from his work over the past two years, where he has supported CEB’s Executive Committee in creating a strategic plan to increase the popularity of baseball in Europe.

John will bring 17 years of professional experience developing baseball and softball in the UK to the work of these joint committees.

Reaction

John Boyd said: "I'm honoured to be nominated by CEB to serve on these committees.  It has been hugely rewarding working with the organisation to set in motion a plan to proactively influence the popularity of baseball in Europe.  Baseball and softball together provide outlets for the widest possible audience, appealing to men and women and boys and girls across a wide age range, whether they are after a great competitive sport or a summer knock-about game.

"I look forward to working with colleagues from both the baseball and softball communities to grow our sports across the continent."
