What We Do

BaseballSoftballUK is the national development and performance agency for baseball and softball in the United Kingdom. BaseballSoftballUK is the accountable body for safeguarding baseball and softball, and for government investment from UK Sport and Sport England into the sports. The agency’s purpose is to increase participation, make the sports even more inclusive, improve the overall playing experience and drive elite performance of the national squads, working with and through the National Governing Bodies – the British Softball Federation and British Baseball Federation.   We are committed to improving, increasing and promoting opportunities in both sports through establishing and supporting development programmes in schools and communities, raising standards in clubs and leagues, establishing a framework and curriculum for coaching and coach-training, talent and facility development, and providing advocacy, information and education for and about our sports.

Funding

BSUK has secured investment from Sport England for 2022-2027. Read about the successful funding application here.  The award acknowledges BSUK’s critical role as a System Partner and as one of just ~130 key organisations, in aligning with Sport England’s Uniting the Movement strategy to increase activity levels, especially across under-represented communities.

BaseballSoftballUK has received major funding awards from Sport England since 2005, and the latest award recognises BaseballSoftballUK’s 25-year history of development across the sports, as well as its foundational role and commitment in delivering system-wide change, in alignment with Sport England’s strategy to tackle inequalities, focusing on women and girls, people with long-term health conditions, disabled people, people from ethnically diverse communities and lower socio-economic groups.

BSUK receives LA28 funding from UK Sport for the management of the senior national team for softball and the senior and U23 teams for baseball.
