It’s back! The BaseballSoftballUK Slowpitch Cup returns for 2023 with a special Easter Monday event, and the traditional Fully-Loaded tournament returning in August – two great opportunities to play this special version of slowpitch softball!

What is the Slowpitch Cup?

The Slowpitch Cup is an annual softball tournament run by BaseballSoftballUK – with a twist. The tournament is contested using the dynamic Fully Loaded format made popular in Australia, allowing teams to get more game time with rapid, action-packed games. Some of the rules include…

Starting every inning with the bases loaded – lots and lots of runs!

Every batter starts with a 1-1 count – don’t miss your chances!

Quick changes between innings – more time to play!

Who’s the tournament aimed at?

The tournament welcomes teams competing at all levels, from recreational to competitive grade.

The competition is divided into Upper Rec, Lower Rec, and Comp categories, with teams grouped based on their level of play during the British Softball Federation National Softball League season. To support with this process, please state your normal playing level on the entry form. Please note, final groupings will be dependent on entries.

  • COMP: no player restrictions
  • Upper REC: No players from an NSL1 team, and no more than two players from any NSL2 Teams
  • Lower REC: No players from an NSL1 team, and no more than one player from any NSL2 Team

When are the tournaments?

BSUK is running the Slowpitch Cup twice this year:

Monday, 10 April – a special edition on the Easter Bank Holiday (register here) - £180

Monday, 28 August (register here) - £180

What else should I know?

The Slowpitch Cup is a blast – but don’t take our word for it, here’s what players have said about it:

Tracey Evans, Bracknell: “Frantic and mad but I loved it. It took a bit of getting used to at first and it was great playing against new teams.”

Nina Harding, Solent Oddballs: “The timing, the pitching, it was very fast-paced with no hanging around.”

Carmel Lord, Thames Valley: “I liked the quick game pressure which put me on my toes from the get-go.”

So come on out and enjoy a full-loaded day of fun at the BaseballSoftballUK Slowpitch Cup!
