BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) is excited to appoint Calum Opere-Hoyal to the role of Development Officer.

In his role, Calum will assist on Development initiatives at BaseballSoftballUK, and take an active role in the further development of the Development Charter. Calum will particularly work to support the growth and sustainability of clubs in London and the East of England.

BACKGROUND

Having previously worked in grassroots football, first for the London Football Association and then for the Cumberland Football Association, this is Calum’s first role in baseball and softball. Calum’s previous roles focused in the areas of governance, discipline, and administration, and supporting the sustainable growth and development of clubs, skills that he will bring to his work with BSUK.

Calum is a graduate of the University of Birmingham and hails from London. In his free time, he runs a football team, Portobello Football Club!

COMMENT

Discussing his appointment, Calum said, “ I’m very excited for the opportunity to help grow baseball and softball in the UK – it’s a very exciting time for the sports! I look forward to getting to know, and to work with, clubs across London and the East of England.”
