    BSUK announces new safeguarding requirements

    In light of the many historic child abuse cases coming forward in football over hte past year, BSUK (which has delegated responsibility for safeguarding in our sports) has undertaken a thorough review of current proceedures and has instigated proposals to reduce the risk of a safeguarding issue damaging the reputation of our sports.

    Announcing the BSUK Awards Nominees

    This weekend, the annual BSUK Awards will be presented from 6:00-8:00 pm at Birmingham City University, immediately following the BSUK Coach Summit.  The Awards have been expanded this year to include a Volunteer of the Year and Umpire of the Year in an effort to recognise the wider workforce who impact our sports.

    Paul Williams from Halton Baseball Club wins Sports Volunteer of the Year award

    The efforts put in over the years by Paul Williams at Halton Baseball Club were recognised on Thursday 22 September when he was presented with the 2016 Sports Volunteer of the Year award by the Mayor of Halton, Councillor Ged Philbin.

    Horsham’s Dan Cannons nominated for Sussex Sports Award

    Dan Cannons, a young player and volunteer coach at Horsham Junior Baseball Club, has been nominated and shortlisted for an award as Sussex Young Volunteer of the Year. Winners will be announced at the Sussex Sports Awards on Friday 27 November at the Grand Hotel in Brighton.
