    BSUK, BBF and CEB to host special coaching clinic led by MLB Envoy Sam Dempster

    BSUK, the BBF and CEB will host a special one-day baseball coaching clinic on Sunday 20 November in Milton Keynes. MLB Envoy Sam Dempster will run the event, and attendees can register for just £25 (including access to special video footage of the clinic). The clinic will focus on coaching players to be better hitters, pitchers and catchers.

    Places available on upcoming BSUK Coach Education courses

    Level 1 baseball/softball coach-training courses are scheduled to take place in the South East, the Midlands and the North West during November this year, and places are available on all courses. But applications need to be made soon.

    Academy Baseball looking for volunteer coaches

    Academy Baseball will be starting up again for the winter on October 22, and more coaches are needed to deliver the programme. Academy Baseball is dedicated to providing a quality winter training environment for all young baseball players, and a key aspect in delivering this programme is having high-quality and enthusiastic coaches to run the practices.

    BSUK teams up with Tottenham Hotspur Foundation for Coach Education Session

    At the end of July, BaseballSoftballUK teamed up with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to deliver a coach education bolt-on session for qualified football coaches.  Patrick Knock, BSUK’s Regional Development Manager for London and the South East, has been working with the foundation to create a partnership enabling BSUK to deliver baseball and softball in more communities and to expand its coaching workforce.

    New Level 2 coaches to swell coaching resources in the North

    Twenty-three potential new Level 2 baseball and softball coaches have attended courses at The Hough End Centre in Manchester over the last three weekends in March, and as a result, coaching resources in the North are set to be significantly increased.

    Sportivate to provide sporting opportunities for teenagers and young adults

    A new Sport England initiative called Sportivate will give young people aged between 14 and 25 the chance to receive six-to-eight weeks of coaching in a sport of their choice and will support them to continue playing sport in their community after the coaching period ends.
