Open trials for the GB Co-ed Slowpitch Team will be held on Sunday, October 24 at the National Training Centre at Upper Heyford. The fact that European Slowpitch Championships will be played again in 2011 should provide an extra incentive for triallists.

British baseball fans are on the edge of their seats in anticipation of the National Baseball Championships (NBC) this weekend. Year after year the NBC never seems to disappoint. By Sunday evening we will know the 2010 champions in the four British baseball leagues. But before that we will be taking an emotional and exciting ride through 14 do-or-die baseball games.

The Coventry Rocks Team and Coventry Zoo Leagues are celebrating the news that they have been awarded a total of £3,705 in Sport Unlimited grants from the region's County Sport Partnership for three programmes that will begin in late September.

The BSUK Youth Panel is looking for a logo to help promote the group and create a recognisable brand. The logo will be used on clothing for young volunteers, displayed at events run by the youth panel and will feature on the BSUK website.

The BSF, BSUK, BASU and the fastpitch community are combining to run a fastpitch umpire training course in September to create a larger pool of umpires for the increasing amount of fastpitch play in the UK. The course is open to anyone interested.

BSUK created the Sefton Softball League in Greater Manchester this summer as part of its efforts to expand participation, and BSUK National Development Manager John Mills decided to attend the sessions. Things have gone well, and on August 15, the league sent a representative team, the Sefton Stingers, to the Manchester Softball League's Rookie Tournament.
