Great Britain Baseball and Softball National Teams have achieved sensational results over the past decade in European and world competitions, despite the fact that none of them now receive any public funding whatsoever - and most of them never did.

So it is nothing short of amazing that:

• The GB Senior Baseball Team and the GB Women's Fastpitch Team are both ranked second in Europe and have qualified for the most recent World Championships.
• The GB Co-ed Slowpitch Team has won six straight European Championships.
• The GB Men's Fastpitch Team is ranked third in Europe and eighth in the world.
• GB youth baseball and fastpitch softball teams in all three age groups are making progress up the European rankings.

But maintaining our national team programmes at this level is becoming increasingly difficult as players and their families, and in many cases coaches and managers as well, struggle with the costs of training, preparation and official competitions overseas, which can amount to tens of thousands of pounds per team per year. So our national teams need help from the baseball and softball communities.
