Softball introduced to the Fens

Fri 18 Mar 2011

A coach-training course held on February 19-20 at the Neale Wade Sports Centre in March, Cambridgeshire and delivered by BSUK South East Regional Coach and Club Development Officer Stan Doney was designed to introduce slowpitch softball in the Fenland and Cambridgeshire area.

Five people attended the highly enjoyable course, and are now looking at setting up a local slowpitch league.

Local Generosity

The course was made possible by the generosity of local fan Bob Terry, who funded the equipment that will be used by the newly-trained coaches.#

The coaches are now taking the sport into junior schools in the area to introduce softball to local 10-year-olds and their families.
