Home run for the Manchester Indoor Softball League

Wed 30 Sep 2015

The Manchester Indoor Softball League has secured sponsorship for its 2015 autumn season from HOME Estate Agents.  The company will be the first-ever sponsors of the Indoor League and will benefit from the growth the league has seen in recent months and years.

The HOME Estate Agency logo will be prominently displayed at the popular venue where the league plays its games, the Powerleague Soccerdome in Trafford, with appropriately-named HOME Run banners at the home run end of each of the four pitches used for indoor softball.  A new rule will be introduced so that if a player hits the banner rather than the normal home run area, they will score double runs on that hit, including any runners on base.

In addition, HOME Estate Agents will have its brand linked to all league activities, promotions and social media.

Twelve teams will compete in the Manchester Indoor League this autumn, consisting of men and women from a wide demographic range.

Innovative sponsorship

Luis Arrevillagas, North West Development Manager for BaseballSoftballUK, said: “As well as being innovative sponsorship, the idea of a banner in the middle of the home run area will also help players to develop their directional hitting skills, as a line drive up the middle is one of the best hits you can do.”

The Manchester Indoor Softball League has been growing year on year, with an autumn season running from October to December and a winter season from January to March.  League growth over the past two years has been as follows:

Winter 2014:  3 teams
Autumn 2014:  6 teams
Winter 2015:  7 teams
Autumn 2015:  12 teams

HOME Estate Agents

Stephen Groves took over the company in 2007 and it was rebranded as HOME in 2013, with offices in Urmston, Stretford and Monton.  The company covers residential sales, lettings and full management within South Manchester and Salford.

HOME works hard with both staff and local people to bring a quality product to customers, and through the firm, Stephen Groves has come into contact with a number of people who play softball in Manchester, and knows the benefits the sport can bring to participants from across the social spectrum.

The company’s softball sponsorship reflects its willingness to engage in projects to help local people and HOME is offering a 15% discount to members of the Manchester Indoor League.

Stephen Groves said: “When I discussed sponsoring the Indoor Softball League with Luis it was clear he has the same passion for the sport as I have for the property industry, so it was clear I wanted to be involved.  As a company, we are always trying to stay ahead of the game and with this modern league format I am more than happy to have the HOME name associated with it.  Good luck to all involved and be sure to hit a HOME Run!”

Future sponsorship opportunities

BaseballSoftballUK is currently in the process of promoting new baseball and softball sessions for children at Key Stage 2 in primary schools, with a view to forming an indoor league and promoting BBF and BSF summer leagues, especially where teams cater for junior players.

HOME has already shown an interest in sponsoring uniforms for the junior teams or leagues to be formed this autumn, but BSUK would like to hear from other companies interested in getting behind this and other projects.

If your company is interested in sponsoring baseball or softball projects in the North West, please contact Luis Arrevillagas on: LA@bsuk.com.
