BSUK welcomes appointment of new Sport England CEO

Fri 24 Aug 2018

BaseballSoftballUK is delighted to hear of the appointment of Tim Hollingsworth as CEO of Sport England, announced on Friday 24 August.

BaseballSoftballUK extends a warm welcome to Tim and looks forward to working with him as he begins his new role this November.  Tim has a strong history of support for inclusivity within sport, most recently as the CEO of the British Paralympic Association.

Commenting on the appointment, BaseballSoftballUK CEO John Boyd said, “We are very pleased to welcome Tim to his new role with Sport England and look forward to continuing to work together to achieve Sport England’s vision and the Government’s Sporting Future sports strategy.  BaseballSoftballUK is committed to giving everyone the opportunity to be active and to get the nation moving.  We look forward to meeting with Tim to highlight this work and the forthcoming MLB London Series next year.”

“We would also like to thank outgoing CEO Jennie Price,” John added. “In her 11 years in the role, baseball and softball participation has undergone its greatest growth period, with the number of people playing regularly in teams climbing from around 10,000 to around 24,500 in the summer of 2018.  This is in part thanks to the ongoing support from Jennie and her team at Sport England.  Jennie has provided stable and constant leadership over the years and we wish her all the best for her future.”
