BSUK's Time to Listen Safeguarding course will take place on Wednesday 4th March at the BSUK offices in London (Marathon House, 190 Great Dover Street, London SE1 4YB). The course starts at 6:00 pm and will lasts around 3 hours.

Cost per person is £30, with group rates available on request.

This course is ideal for Safeguarding Officers or club officials who have a lot of contact or will be in frequent contact with children.

As the new season is just around the corner, now is the best time to start preparing and getting all the administrative work sorted so you're ready to play ball on opening day.

A reminder that DBS checks for all coaches who have youth players should be completed prior to the start of the season; email.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and we will send you the forms necessary to achieve this.

The DBS check is FREE for volunteers (almost everyone who may need one) and takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

DBS checks need to be renewed yearly. An update service is available for players to sign up for once a check has been completed that negates the need to complete a new form every year. For more details of this option please visit the BSUK Safeguarding website.

Head Coaches of youth teams are required to complete safeguarding training. Training should be done as a face to face course that covers basic safeguarding (referred to as an 'Introduction to Safeguarding') and are readily available from local sports centres and through county sports partnerships.

Safeguarding training lasts for 3 years. If you have completed safeguarding training more than 3 years ago, an online refresher course is fully acceptable to get you back up to speed. If you need an online refresher course, click here.

Parental Permission forms are required for each youth player to participate in baseball/softball activities and can be downloaded here. Copies of completed forms should be sent to BSUK to keep on file .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
