Growing participation across the United Kingdom is a priority within our Two Sports, One Ambition Strategic Plan and will play a key part in our Sport Specific Development Plans. It is our hope that clubs and leagues will form the core of this growth and, to support this, we have created a section dedicated to recruitment within our Development Charter.  

Marketing

Using our Development Charter marketing guide, our relationship managers will help you grow your membership by helping you decide who you want to market to, how best to do it and why. We have compiled lots of helpful tips and insights to help you sell our wonderful sports to new audiences, and our Commercial Team is committed to helping you spread the word through our own digital platforms including website and social media. 

Target groups

We have also put together guidance which provides an overview of some of the different groups that your club/league may also wish to do more specific recruitment for. These include:

  • Women & Girls
  • LGBTQ+
  • Disability
  • Lower Socio-Economic
  • Black, Asian and minority ethnic

We have compiled insight, key considerations, barriers to participation and marketing tips relevant to each group, as well as ideas on potential partnership organisations and training opportunities. 
It is our hope that our guidance will help your club/league increase its membership, as well as become more inclusive and appealing to a much broader local community audience.
