Advice for Clubs and Volunteers
It is not your responsibility to decide whether or not a child is being abused. But it is your responsibility to act if you have concerns. No action is not an option when it comes to child protection.
You should read through the policies and procedures in this Safeguarding section that detail the welfare-related standards adopted by BaseballSoftballUK, the British Baseball Federation and the British Softball Federation. Leagues, clubs, teams, other affiliated organisations and individuals associated with baseball and softball are expected to follow these standards.

- Joint Safeguarding Policy
- Club Welfare Officer Guidance
- Good Practice in Baseball and Softball
- Reporting Concerns Flowchart
You can find more welfare-related documents in the Resources section, including good practice guidelines and advice for organising safe team trips.
Another good source of advice and support if you have concerns about the welfare of a child is the NSPCC (Tel: 08088 005 000).
