Coaches required for Midlands region

Thu 2 Aug 2012

The role: Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate level-2 (and above) sports coaches to be part of a team of coaches to work across initiatives to attract new players and participants to baseball and softball.  Baseball and softball tend to be seasonal sports with high periods of delivery from March/April – July, and September-October/November.

As well as working on NGB focused projects, BSUK will also support coaches to find additional coaching work.

You will be supported and mentored by Will Lintern – Baseball Softball UK’s (BSUK) Midlands Regional Manager.

Training

You will be provided with training to qualify as a Level 2 Softball Coach.

Training will take place on 18 August in Birmingham (venue TBC) and 1 September at Stafford Sports College (both sessions run from 9.00 – 17.00).

Your induction will include supporting a Birmingham based corporate softball event in September and October where you will be expected to provide 8 hours of voluntary coaching support.  This can delivered in one 8 hour block or two 4-hour sessions.

Once qualified and been inducted you will be deployed as needed in the HE/FE, Workplace sectors, and in some cases with schools participating on School Games.  Hourly pay rates are £20-£25.
