Tue 16 Oct 2012
BaseballSoftballUK is pleased to announce that we will be featuring at the SportEx Festival, a weekend that will present a fantastic sporting platform to encompass the Olympic legacy. Showcasing national tournaments, interactive feature areas and the North’s largest sports exhibition to thousands of sport and fitness enthusiasts, the SportEx Festival will keep the Olympic legacy torch burning at Manchester’s EventCity on 20-21 October.
SportEx feature areas will offer demonstrations and are available for visitor participation and taster sessions to ensure a fun-filled weekend for all. The feature areas include Manchester Phoenix Sledge Hockey, Crossfit 3D, University of Salford Fencing Club and BaseballSoftballUK.
In the BaseballSoftballUK area, visitors of all ages and abilities will be able to try the basics of baseball and softball, as well as to speak to softball players and organisers. You do not have to have played the game before, as the feature area is designed for both new and experienced participants. There will be a screen for visitors to hit a ball with a baseball or softball bat and also gloves and balls available for people to have a go at catching a ball, as well as information on local clubs and on more opportunities to play after the SportEx Festival. The Festival is free for people to take part and try out the equipment.
BaseballSoftballUK, the Manchester Softball League and Manchester Baseball Club are excited to have the opportunity to showcase their sports at the SportEx Festival.
