BSUK and Sport Birmingham to run the Birmingham Workplace Softball Series

Wed 6 Apr 2016

BaseballSoftballUK and Sport Birmingham have put together a package of events tailored to help Birmingham companies Hit the Pitch by playing softball this spring and summer!

With events planned once a month from April through September, the Birmingham Workplace Challenge Softball Series will give teams a fun after-work team activity and offer companies the chance to network with other local businesses.

Softball in corporate settings has proved ideal over many years for staff engagement and welfare by encouraging teamwork, cross-organisation communication and friendships.

Schedule of events

The Birmingham Workplace Series will launch on Wednesday 27 April with a session from 6:30-8:30 pm, where teams will get a taste of softball through some coached activities, followed by food and networking with the organisers and other teams.

Competition will then begin on Thursday 26 May, with games from 6.30-8.30 pm at the Tally Ho! West Midlands Police Sports & Social Club, Pershore Road, Birmingham B5 7RN.  Further competition nights will be held at the same venue on 15 June, 18 August and 22 September, when trophies will be presented.

A further event will take place on the evening of Thursday 14 July, when teams will be able to learn a bit more about the sport in a session with BSUK-qualified coaches as a warm-up for participating in the Sport Birmingham Business Games two days later.

Teams that sign up for the Birmingham Workplace Softball Challenge Series before the Launch Night on 27 April will receive a discount on the league entry fee, which will otherwise be £300 per team.
