Academy Baseball and Softball Returns

Tue 24 Sep 2013

Academy logoBaseballSoftballUK’s Academy programme is set to return in October with regional and national practices throughout the closed season sandwiched between opening and closing events at Farnham Park.

Designed to help young players turn the off-season into an opportunity to become better, stronger and fitter athletes, the Academy Baseball and Softball programmes will be better staffed than ever before and will take advantage of the new multi-field facility at Farnham Park near Slough.

The Academy will launch with both baseball and softball practice sessions at Farnham Park on Saturday 26 October, after which each sport will hold its own national practices at the Woughton On The Green Sports Pavilion in Milton Keynes and regional practices at venues to be announced.

To conclude the off-season programme, each Academy will hold a series of games at Farnham Park in the spring.  Divided into age-appropriate teams, the Academy Series will allow players to put into action the skills and strategies they have learned over the winter, compete with and against their peers from across the country and provide a final tune-up before the 2014 BBF and BSF seasons.

The Academy is open to players aged 10 to 25.
