MayFarnham Park due to open in early June
The much-anticipated opening of the first purpose-built community baseball and softball complex at Farnham Park in Buckinghamshire is approaching fast. The Farnham Park Management Committee (FPMC), formed by BSUK to oversee the development, has announced that play may be able to start at the new facility as soon as early June, with a formal Opening Ceremony planned for Saturday 20 July when there will be both high-level baseball and softball activity on the site.

MayNew softball programme in Essex looks for volunteers
This June and July, the fun and social mixed-sex sport of slowpitch softball will return to Essex for the first time in at least seven years as Redbacks Baseball & Softball [http://www.essexredbacks.com/] will run programmes in Billericay and Chelmsford to introduce the sport to new players and get former players back into the game.

MarWickes softball programme to double in size in 2013
The successful softball partnership between the DIY chain store Wickes, the charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research (LLR) and BSUK will double in size during the forthcoming summer season.

FebYouth Panel looks ahead to another exciting season
BSUK’s Youth Panel met in London on Saturday, 16 February to discuss the work the group’s members have been doing over the winter and to prepare for the summer ahead.

FebBSUK welcomes new Youth Panel member
Lucy Rose Barker, who currently attends Bucks New University and holds the role of joint University Softball Officer there, is the newest member of the BSUK Youth Panel and will attend her first Youth Panel meeting on 16 February.

NovAutumn Youth Panel meeting sets the bar high
The BSUK Youth Panel gathered at BSUK’s London offices on Saturday, 10 November to catch up on activities the members have been taking part in and to set the agenda for the next few months, with a particular focus on developing the sports at colleges and universities.

NovYoung British players get a taste of the Major Leagues
Nearly 200 young players got a personal taste of Major League Baseball on Saturday, 17 November when the 3rd annual European Big League Tour came to London for the first time and Major League players spent the day instructing at clinics, signing autographs and answering questions at the London Soccerdome.
