    BSUK looks forward with confidence to the next Sport England funding cycle

    BSUK will soon be submitting a new Whole Sport Plan to Sport England on which funding to baseball and softball for 2013-2017 will be based.  Following a spate of recent successes and good progress against participation and other targets, the agency will approach its funding negotiations with confidence.

    Softball proves popular sport for School Games 2012

    Softball is proving to be a popular choice for the 2012 School Games programme, the new government initiative to encourage pupils to participate in competitive school sport.  So far, six county areas are planning to include include softball as part of their Level 3 county competition programme that will take place during the summer of 2012.

    Slowpitch softball opportunity for beginners in Manchester

    BSUK and the Manchester Softball League are offering an opportunity for people to come and try slowpitch softball in Manchester over the next nine weeks with a programme that will run up to the start of the new MSL season.

    An LGBT Slowpitch SoftballMini- League aimed at complete beginners in Manchester is now under way, with one evening gone and two more to come.  The winning team will collect a £250 prize.

    Emma Ley: 1981-2012

    Emma Ley, BSUK’s former Regional Development Manager for London and the South East, a passionate advocate for softball and baseball and for female athletes in all sports, died in her sleep on April 16 at the age of 31.

    BSUK prepares for 2012 London softball events

    BSUK is taking individual and team registrations for a number of slowpitch softball events in London throughout the summer of 2012, plus the Great Britain Fastpitch League.  The slowpitch events include single-sex tournaments, GLSML and London-region co-ed events and a “Pitch Up & Play!” university tournament.
