Baseball and GB Softball national teams at different age levels will be representing Great Britain this summer at European and (for the GB Women's Team) World Championships.
With no public funding, and with players and families having to pay all the costs, these teams can really use some help.
Since March, members of the baseball and softball communities have been able to make PayPal donations to help our teams get to their international competitions by clicking on the Donate button at the top right corner of the Home Page on the BBF, BSF and BSUK websites. But the results so far have been disappointing.
GB teams are achieving fantastic results, especially considering they have to fund it all themselves, and they deserve support.
A small donation from you can make a big difference to them.
Help the Kids
It's our youth teams in particular that are struggling. In baseball, the GB Juniors and GB Cadets are both playing in European Championship Qualifiers, and in the current economic climate, their families are really having to stretch.
In softball, the GB Junior (Under-19) Women and the GB Minime (Under-13) Girls are both playing in European Championships, and the Minimes in particular are facing an expensive trip to Turkey.
Meanwhile, the GB Senior Baseball Team has a chance to be invited to the 2013 World Baseball Classic if they can match or come close to the silver medal they won in 2007 at this year's European Championships in Germany -- but that level of performance takes resources, and the team has next to none.

2. Scroll down until you come to the Donate buttons for individual baseball and softball national teams.
3. Pick the team (or teams) you want to help, click on those buttons, and follow the instructions to make your donation.
Why Do Our Teams Deserve Help?
Great Britain Baseball and Softball National Teams have achieved sensational results over the past decade in European and world competitions, despite the fact that none of them now receive any public funding whatsoever - and most of them never did.
So it's nothing short of amazing that:
-- The GB Senior Baseball Team and the GB Women's Fastpitch Team are both ranked second in Europe and have qualified for the most recent World Championships.
-- The GB Co-ed Slowpitch Team has won six straight European Championships.
-- The GB Men's Fastpitch Team is ranked third in Europe and eighth in the world.
-- GB youth baseball and fastpitch softball teams in all three age groups are making progress up the European rankings.
Why Do Our Teams Need Help?
Maintaining our national team programmes at this level of achievement is becoming increasingly difficult as players and their families, and in many cases coaches and managers as well, struggle with the costs of training, preparation and then competing in official competitions overseas, which can amount to tens of thousands of pounds per team per year.
So our national teams need help from the baseball and softball communities.
Anything you give to any of our national teams, no matter how small, will be gratefully received!
