| GB Baseball Team loses to Belgium in Four Nations final |
The GB Baseball Team lost by a score of 4-0 to Belgium in the final of the Four Nations Tournament played in Wanze, Belgium from May 10-12.
Belgian pitcher Terence Antonacci pitched six shutout innings, allowing just four hits and two walks, and struck out 11 GB hitters.
Meanwhile, the Belgian offense started quickly and chased GB starter Jeff Motti out of the game in the second inning. Kevin Knollenburg was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Filip Vander Meiren scored twice for Belgium.
Brant Ust had three of the five British hits.
The final was played in the afternoon of Monday, May 12, and in the morning the Quebec All Stars took third place by defeating an International All-Star Team 7-3.
The two finalists, GB and Belgium, had already met during pool play on Saturday, May 10, with the Belgians winning 5-0. But Great Britain defeated the Quebec All-Stars on Saturday and the International All Stars on Sunday to reach the gold medal game.
Belgium also won twice, with a tie in their opener against the International All Stars.
