ABCA Convention Report - What’s to come?

Last year I blogged about each of the clinics that I attended (you can work backwards through each post by clicking here). This year I'm going to try to be a bit more creative in sharing the information and will vary the level of detail depending on how relevant I think certain topics were to the sport here (and for that matter to fastpitch and even slowpitch).

Some things to look out for:

  • A main report on our website and in Hot Corner.
  • Recaps of various topics and speakers, including Tony LaRussa, national champion college coaches, S&C, vision training and sport psychology.
  • A recap of the international coaches business meeting.
  • Tips on useful resources identified at the convention.
  • How social media is becoming more important to the success of coaches and programmes.
  • Networking at the convention.

I'm already looking forward to the next convention. No flights are available yet but I'm planning to be in Orlando in January 2015. Coaches - it's seriously something that you should be striving to attend.

Liam Carroll

Liam was a Regional Coach and then Development Coordinator for BaseballSoftballUK until May 2014. He returned to his hometown of London to work for BSUK in 2010 after stops in Somerset, Bristol, Cornwall, California and Nevada. Growing up playing in Britain, Liam made the move to America to study and play university baseball. After figuring out that his future would be brighter as a coach rather than player, he moved to the University of Nevada Las Vegas to finish his degree and coach college baseball. Since then he’s coached youth and adult teams on both sides of the atlantic and with the Great Britain Baseball National Teams.
